Vila Neven Apartment 02
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Vila Neven Apartment 02, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream “tourist trap,” and that’s exactly what I loved about it. This three-star place sits quietly on Jovanke Jeftanovic street, and you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying in Zlatibor — you’re not exactly in the heart of Belgrade, but that’s the whole point. This mountain resort town moves at its own pace, and Vila Neven sits in a residential area that actually gives you a feel for how locals live. The main tourist strip with all the restaurants and shops is maybe a 10-minute walk, which means you can easily grab dinner but still escape the crowds when you want to.
The Space Itself
I stayed in what’s technically an apartment, and it really does feel like you’re crashing at a friend’s place rather than checking into a hotel. The room was spotless — I mean, genuinely clean in that way that makes you think someone’s grandmother might have been involved in the housekeeping. There’s a small kitchen area with everything you actually need, not just the basics they throw in to technically call it a kitchenette.
What Makes It Work
The owners clearly put thought into the little things that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just sleeping. Decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, windows that actually open properly, and — this might sound silly — but the shower has proper water pressure. You’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. There’s parking right there, which in Zlatibor can sometimes be a headache elsewhere.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.8 rating isn’t an accident, honestly. Vila Neven delivers on being exactly what it promises — a comfortable, clean place to stay without any pretense. The hosts are responsive without being hovering, and the price point makes sense for what you’re getting. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and use it as a proper base for exploring Zlatibor, whether you’re here for the hiking, the food scene, or just to get away from city life for a few days.
