The main tourist strip with all the restaurants and shops is maybe a 10-minute walk, which means you can easily grab dinner but still escape the crowds when you want to.

I stayed in what’s technically an apartment, and it really does feel like you’re crashing at a friend’s place rather than checking into a hotel. The room was spotless — I mean, genuinely clean in that way that makes you think someone’s grandmother might have been involved in the housekeeping. There’s a small kitchen area with everything you actually need, not just the basics they throw in to technically call it a kitchenette.

Decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, windows that actually open properly, and — this might sound silly — but the shower has proper water pressure. You’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. There’s parking right there, which in Zlatibor can sometimes be a headache elsewhere.
