First Impressions
Mona Plaza Zlatibor sits right in the heart of Jezero neighborhood, and honestly, the setting couldn’t be better. I mean, you’re literally walking distance from Zlatibor Lake, which is sort of the whole reason people come to this mountain resort town. The parking situation is actually decent here — something you’ll appreciate after driving those winding Serbian mountain roads to get to Zlatibor.
The Room Experience
My room had this clean, modern vibe that felt refreshing after some of the more traditional mountain hotels I’ve stayed at in Serbia. The beds are proper comfortable, and you know what really impressed me? The soundproofing. Even with families and groups around (which there always are in Zlatibor), nights were surprisingly quiet. The bathroom was spacious too — not one of those tiny European hotel afterthoughts.
Location & What’s Around
Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to the lake in about three minutes, but you’re also close enough to the main pedestrian zone where all the action happens. The cable car to Tornik ski center is maybe a ten-minute walk, which locals will tell you is prime real estate during winter season. During summer, you’ve got hiking trails practically starting from your doorstep.

The hotel restaurant serves solid Serbian mountain cuisine — think hearty portions and local specialties that actually taste authentic, not tourist-trap versions. Breakfast was more extensive than I expected for a four-star place, with both international options and regional dishes. The staff here genuinely seemed to know the area well, giving me hiking recommendations that turned out to be spot-on.
